Julia and Julia

I just watched Julia and Julia (the movie). What a fun show. I had no idea what fun Julia Child was.
This movie made Blogging look so easy. But it gave me some ideas.

These idea will probably wander away like their relatives. I have all these great thoughts. Then they just disappear. go figure.
Someday I'm going to follow them and see where they get off to.

I've been working on the sweater for Marie. I'm not thrilled with it, so it's hard to work on it. It will be lovely when (if) I finish it. I'm using Lion Brand Homespun in a lovely ivory. I took the left side apart 3 times before I was happy with it. I have the back, left side, right side and part of one sleeve complete. I should just get it done. Maybe later.

I've also been working on scarves, hot pads, granny squares, and baby things. OH! and doilies.

I planted lettuce this morning. I put a piece of screen over it to keep the cats from using it as a litter box. Dumb cats.

We have about 4 cats who live in out garage. They are very WILD. They run and hide whenever they see me. I keep feeding them. But one of these days I am going to get tired of feeding something that hates me. I talk to them when I go into the garage. I don't think they understand. Dumb cats.

My tomatoes and peppers are doing well. They have grown about two inches.

My iris are in bloom. I love this time of year. Everything is so beautiful. And today the sun is shinning. The sky is clear and It's about 73 degrees. A perfect day.

This is the afghan I did for Becky. She got it this morning.

Life is good.

Thank you afghan

This is Mindy with the afghan I made to thank her for donating time so Rachel could get paid during her gallbladder incident.

I'm so glad she likes it.

Becky will get hers on Thursday.

Today the sun is out and the sky is beautiful. Yesterday we had S**W. Welcome to Springtime in the Rockies.

My iris are blooming. They are so lovely. I got most of them from Mom's yard years ago. They always remind me of her.
I think she only kept them because I loved them so. I think she would have liked something else better.

I'm making a granny square vest. Should be fun.

My Red Hat group went to House of Tibet for lunch on Saturday. I enjoyed it. I love seeing all the girls. But I really liked the food. Lots of veggies. really good flavor. I will go there again.

When in trouble or in doubt...Run in circles, scream, and shout.

Look what I did

This is a small afghan (About 60"x48") that I made for Becky (One of the girls, Rachel works with.) She donated 16 hours of vacation time so Rachel would get paid for some of the time she was off for her gallbladder surgery. I wanted to thank her, hence I made this little afghan for her.
It's made with JoAnn's Rainbow Bounce in white and variegated blue. It feels really good. It took about 20 hours start to finish.
Misty also donated 16 hours for Rachel. I'm making her one in Black and Red. I post it when finished.

No Crochet Class today. The Center closed to go to the Zoo. Hope they're having fun.
The weather is wonderful for a trip to the zoo.

I planted 2 tomatoes and 2 pepper plants.
The marigolds from yesterday are still beautiful. The basil looked better yesterday. I hope they perk up.
The rose I planted last week is dead.
The day lilies are looking sad, but they're still green.

I'm going to move some of my Iris after they bloom. Probable next month.

Sunday

Today was beautiful. Sunny and warm. I planted Marigolds and Basil. So far so good.

I finished the afghan for Becky. She works with Rachel and donated some of her vacation so that Rachel could get paid when she was off for her gallbladder surgery. I'm making one for Misty, also, for the same reason. I wanted to say thank you to them and a small afghan seemed like a good idea. I hope they like them.

The best place to live, is where your friends are.
Frank Sinatra age 83

I was watching a TV show today and the fellow who was on the program said that he was at Frank Sinatra's 83rd birthday party when he heard Mr. Sinatra say that. I really like it. So I'm sharing it with all of you.

Fixed

Well, the Comcast guy came over at 2:50 p.m. (Hey! That's between 1 and 3.) He took one look and said,"I don't know why the office tells people they need that little box. With the equipment you have, you didn't need this."
SOOOOOOO! All he had to do was disconnect that "STUPID" little box. TV is doing fine now.
Boy! did I feel dumb. The nice man said that I should not feel stupid, that I was just going by what I had been told.

Russ and I had a good laugh over the whole thing.

Woke up to rain this morning, but the sun has decided to show up. It smells so nice outside today.

The girls and I are going to do the 5K walk with the Weight Watchers on June 5. I am so looking forward to it.
Russ and I walked 2 miles yesterday. Sometimes he surprises me, by joining me on my walks.

A new Hobby Lobby has opened in Sandy. (about 10 miles from my house.) So guess where I'm going this afternoon.

What is Shortly????

I got the DUMB little box from Comcast. I hooked it up this morning. I called to activate it. They said that it would take about an hour for the TV to come back up.
GUESS AGAIN, Comcast!!!! It's been 2 hours and still I have a black screen with a blue message...ONE MOMENT PLEASE...This channel should be available shortly. That blinks.
What the H--L is shortly?????
Why can't they just leave things alone? I like TV when all you had to do was turn it on and get off your lazy butt to change channels. Then along comes cable...Ok, the remote is a nice touch. But what good is having 400+ channels if the stupid thing doesn't work?
And now they want me to pay for radio. Not in this lifetime.

At lease the sky is blue and partly cloudy today. The wind is blowing, but not bad.

HELP

I need help. How can I fix the hole in this lovely tablecloth?
I found this lovely tablecloth when I was looking around in my basement. There are all kinds of wonderful things down there.
Anyway, I would like to fix this hole so that the whole tablecloth will be beautiful.
Thanks for any help I can get.

Today has been cool and sunny. Spring may decide to stay after all.

Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it.

Saturday???

Hi. Yeah, it's Saturday. Cloudy, again.

I'm off to Weight Watchers. After 3.5 years I'm still going almost every Saturday morning. I haven't even gotten close to "goal". But I'm still at it. I'd do better if I stayed on program. And did some exercise. But at least I'm not gaining.

I thought about quiting and Russell told me not to. So I'm up at 6 a.m. and getting ready to go.

I do love the other people there. We have alot of fun and learn alot at the meetings. I have learned to eat better, but every now and then I have to have chocolate cake. No control. Well, very little control.

Less of me this week.
